What is Olaplex, do I need it and how much is it?
In our hair we have bonds called disulfide bonds. During chemical services, colouring etc, these bonds are broken.
After rinsing colour out and conditioning, between 50 and 70% are rebonded.
This is why, the more you colour, the more damage you get.
Olaplex rebonds between 90 and 100% with each chemical service.
There are 5 steps;
Olaplex Step 1 is applied in your colours in salon.
Olaplex Step 2 is applied after your colour is rinsed in salon.
Olaplex Step 3 is a take home 100ml portion which includes up to 10 re-bonding treatments.
Olaplex Step 4 is a 250ml Shampoo
Olaplex Step 5 is a 250ml Conditioner
So how much is it?
The cost for Olaplex is $45 for both step 1 and step 2 which are used in your colour service.
Plus $49 for the take home portion which will continue to rebuild the broken bonds in your hair and protect from all the torture you do to it at home. You should get between 6 and 15 treatments from 1 bottle.
So all up, it's $94.00 added onto your service.
The Shampoo (Step 4) and the Conditioner (Step 5) are $49 each OR we currently have an Olaplex pack which includes Step 3, 4 and 5 for just $129, meaning that the Step 3 is less than 1/2 price.
Do you need Olaplex?
I would never colour my hair ever again without it!
So yes. Everyone needs Olaplex. ESPECIALLY if you want to go lighter.
If you'd like to add Olaplex to your service, please remember to mention it at the time of booking as it does add an extra 20 minutes to your processing time.
